There are some cell phone accessories that you want to have in order to get the most out of your phone. If you have been recently looking at accessories you may be overwhelmed with all of the information out there, and figuring out what you need the most can help you get on the right track.

One of the first things that you may want to consider when looking at cell phone accessories is battery chargers. There is nothing more frustrating than dead
cell phone batteries, and if you have ever needed to make a call, but cannot due to a dead cell phone it may be time to make sure that you have a charger for not only your home, but also your car.

Dropping a cell phone can make you cringe and you may even be afraid to look to see what the results are. Many times you get lucky and just acquire a small scratch, but sometimes you can completely destroy your cell phone by dropping it. This is where a case can protect your phone from being dropped, and you will not have to worry again. There are many cases that are very stylish and you will be able to find one that fits your personality perfectly.

A hands free headset is one of the safest ways to use your cell phone in the car, and you may want to consider looking at this accessory closer. 4 Tips For Internal Marketing In Your Retail Store

Internal marketing refers to what you do to sell your merchandise inside the walls of your own store. While external marketing and advertising is absolutely necessary, internal marketing is as important if not more important. There have been countless studies conducted that focus on shoppers' moods and mannerisms inside of a store. Different types of décor and tangible retail store fixtures, equipment and decorations can make it easier for someone to spend money. If you want your internal marketing to be up to snuff, here are 4 tips.

1. Your marketing should drive sales.

Small details can make a huge difference. This is the reason you should pay attention to everything that goes on your walls, shelves and display mannequins. Put your more expensive merchandise in the front so people immediately see your trendiest, most recent pieces. Make sure your mannequins are outfitted with layers of your higher end clothing and accessories. Do what you can to put your merchandise on a pedestal. People will respect your clothing if they see it in a positive light.

2. Have in-store promotions.

In store promotions work wonders for your bottom line. Be creative with your promotions. I have seen retail stores institute everything from “buy one get one free” deals to percentage off coupons. This kind of marketing is obviously more direct than the subtleties of decorating and marketing your store, but it can prove effective.

3. Your décor should compliment your marketing and merchandise.

Look at large retail stores like Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express, The Limited, Victoria Secret etc. The inside of their store perfectly describes their image. Hollister is very dark and tropical, which compliments their youthful, beach-heavy clothing lines nicely. Express is very sleek, modern and minimalist....3 adjectives that could accurately describe their men's clothing line. Figure out your store's theme and the demographic that will be shopping there to make suitable aesthetic changes and additions.

4. Decorate the front of your store to invite people in.

If your shop is in a mall, shopping center or on a street in a busy shopping district, you want to draw customers in however you can. The retail world is very competitive, so you need to gain any edge you can. The first thing customers are going to associate with your store is how it looks from the outside. Your facade and front windows is what gets customers through the door. Make sure your windows are clean and you fill the front of your store with your latest marketing and merchandise. Even though people will come into your store regardless of how the front looks, you want to do everything you can to pique peoples' interests and force them to enter.

4 Tips For The Best Lighting

The best kind of lighting is attractive, complimentary and efficient. Whether you are looking to install lighting in a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom or even outdoors, you should always have a plan. I strongly suggest gathering information about lighting beforehand because giving your home attractive, efficient lighting is certainly an involved task.

If you are looking to make your home as energy-safe and good looking as possible, here are a few tips for you. These 4 tips cover everything from using natural light to replacing outdated bulbs.

1. Utilize natural light.

When it comes to light, nothing beats natural light. It is pure, refreshing and free! I am a big advocate of illuminating a house with natural light because it always puts me in a good mood. To get the most out of natural light, you need to pay close attention to windows, window dressings and skylights. The right kind of windows in the correct place will light up your house beautifully all day. In addition, I feel no bathroom should be without a skylight. These are moderate-scale changes, but definitely something to keep in mind.

2. Take advantage of task lighting.

Task lighting is absolutely essential in this day and age. No longer do we rely on large, bright, industrial like ceiling lights to light up an entire room. For a more modern approach, use task lighting in conjunction with a ceiling light for best results. This rule applies for bathroom, bedroom and kitchen lighting. The main light will provide a general lighting source, while task lighting and accent lighting over tables, bars, bathtubs and vanities will prevent troublesome shadows and dark spots.

3. Install dimmer switches.

Most lights in your house, especially main ceiling lamps and recessed lighting, should have dimmer switches attached. Dimmers give you more control over the lighting environment of a room. Sometimes, dim mood lighting doesn't fit the task at hand. Same goes for very bright light. Dimmers give you the freedom of having several light settings in one fixture. It also helps save energy.

4. Replace incandescent bulbs.

Incandescent bulbs are well on their way to being obsolete. If you have the resources, a full on switch is recommended. Switch out all of your old, incandescent fixtures and bulbs with florescent bulbs and fixtures. You can also go the LED route if you don't like fluorescents. Both alternatives are far more energy efficient than incandescent lighting.

Making Your iPhone Your Own

Personalizing one's iPhone is a fun and exciting experience, as it reflects the individuals personality. There are several different means one can take to personalize their device, whether it be through iPhone covers, music, backgrounds, ring tones, personal photos, and other decals that can be placed onto one's iPhone.

The first attribute of the iPhone that will draw one's eye before one even turn it on will be the exterior. Although the iPhone comes in a sleek silver and black casing, one can purchase iPhone cases to personalize their iPhone to the color of their preference. These covers are available in a multitude of colors, and can be emblazoned with different designs or logos.

After turning on the iPhone, the next most expressive feature will be the background that appears on the phone's screen. There is a huge selection of background wallpapers, including wallpaper that you can download from the apple store, a personal photo, a personal design, or a professionally created wallpaper downloaded through an application store.

The next step most will take in personalizing their phone will be to get their music on it. The iPhone is able to sync with the user's iTunes music library. This makes the transfer of music seamless, and the user gets to listen to their personal choice of music on their iPhone immediately.

Another publicly displayed feature of one's iPhone will be the user's ring tones. The user will be able to use their iTunes library selection for a ring tone, or can purchase a ring tone from the apple store or from an application store. When the user's phones goes off in public, everyone will get a taste of the user's personal preference, thus making this feature a large component of the personalizing process.

Finally, after one has purchased their favored iPhone cover, has their preferred ring tone, a fancy background, and all of their music on their device, it is time to explore the app store, which is a digital store that contains numerous applications for the iPhone, ranging from games, movie listings, restaurant menus, and even GPS. One can tell a lot about a person by the apps on their iPhone, as there is an app for any interest.

Making your iPhone your own is indeed an exciting process, and with the iPhone, personalizing a mobile phone has never had such a vast amount of options available.

Making Factory Maintenance Profitable

The importance of factory maintenance cannot be overstated. A well maintained factory is a clear competitive advantage for businesses in every industry. Routine factory maintenance increases worker and product safety. Factory maintenance reduces worker and machine down time. The advantages stemming from a well maintained factory lead to a more valuable reputation, lower insurance rates and increased profits.

The core of any factory is its machinery. When the machines are running properly, the workers can produce their products on schedule and the factory makes money. Conversely, when the factory is not maintained, parts break down during runs, which force work stoppages. Frequent work stoppages send signals to customers that the factory is unreliable and should be avoided. Work stoppages mean missed deadlines which might lead to canceled contracts. Work stoppages may also mean having to place employees on furlough which may lead to reduced morale among all workers and reduced productivity from the workers who remain in the factory.

Improperly maintained factory equipment is a safety hazard. Improperly maintained machinery will malfunction more often and may possibly put a worker's physical well being in jeopardy. This should be an unacceptable risk for any prudent business. Regardless of any moral imperative to keep workers safe, there are economic incentives for reducing accidents in the workplace, including reduced worker compensation claims, ease of recruitment of better qualified workers and lowering the risk of receiving fines and penalties from governing authorities.

It makes sense to engage in regular industrial parts service. All mechanical parts wear out and need to be replaced, but if parts are maintained correctly, factory managers have greater flexibility in determining when that part should be replaced. More important, factory managers can budget for scheduled parts replacement. An unanticipated expenditure to replace a broken or malfunctioning part will have a negative impact on most budgets.

Proper factory maintenance is an investment in the future of the factory and all of its components. However, if market conditions force the factory to close, and if it cannot be sold as a going concern, then it is possible that the parts of the factory may be sold off separately. Well maintained industrial machinery will command a higher sale price than similar, but not as well maintained, factory parts.

Consumer good will is the final component in the equation. Good will is difficult, under the best of circumstances, to measure and even more difficult when the public is not privy to a factory's maintenance records; however, good will is costly to ignore. The public can see the impact of a poorly maintained factory through worker injuries and product defects. Negative publicity may convince consumers to punish negligent factories and reward their competitors.

Bar Pendant Lighting

Nothing makes a home bar pop like quality lighting. If you want to impress your guests with something besides your beer and spirits collection, lighting is your best bet. No matter what kind of theme you are planning on going with when it comes to your home bar, proper lighting is an absolute must.

Lighting serves as a functional and aesthetic tool: it allows you to actually see what you are doing in addition to giving off the proper ambiance. If you have a home bar and want to get the lighting right, follow these 4 steps for proper installation.

1. Come up with a plan.

Always come up with a detailed plan, no matter what home improvement or “do it yourself” project you are planning. Draw out a diagram for your planned bar lighting, making sure to include accurate measurements. Planning makes every other step much, much easier because you already have a good idea of what you are going to do. Doing a job like this by the seat of your pants often leads to costly mistakes. This will be your blue print for the rest of the installation process.

2. Turn off the power supply.

Second step, for safety purposes, is turning off the power supply. Turn off the electrical power in the circuit panel before even thinking about touching anything. I suggest testing the connection by turning the switch on and off to make sure there is no electricity. Once your tests prove that there is definitely no electrical current, you can start the wiring.

3. Attach the wiring.

The first step when dealing with the wiring is removing the rubber insulation. Use wire strippers to take ½ inch to 1 inch off of the ends of the wires. After the wires are properly stripped, attach your positives, negatives and grounds. The black goes with black, white goes with white and the copper/green is your ground. Twist the ends of the wires together with pliers and attach a wire nut for prolonged support.

4. Add flush mounts.

Now that the wiring and support for the pendant lighting fixtures is all set, it is important to hide any unsightly wiring. The best way to do this is to add flush mounting to the ceiling to ensure a clean, sleek look. You should flush mount most pendant lighting fixtures for safety and appearance reasons.

Unique Alternatives To A Closet

Every once in a while, I like to change my surroundings a bit to "freshen things up".  When I get this urge, walls generally get painted different colors, beds and dressers get moved, decorations get bought and placed and the such.  One thing that I have really found stagnant as of late has been my closet.

Most women my age feel that a closet is an absolute necessity.  What can I say?  Us ladies love clothes, shoes and accessories!  However, I find closets to be very boring.  From the outside, all a closet is it a door or a set of doors.  What fun is that?

I come from a bit of a retail background, having worked several positions at a large clothing retail store for about 5 years.  One main thing our district manager would always say to the employees and the management is "use your product as your marketing material".  To this day, what he said has had quite the effect on me, and will be something I'll always remember.

Most of us don't think of clothing as decor for a room or house.  We think of clothing as a functional decoration for our bodies.  However, retail stores operate totally differently.  The way the clothes are folded, hung, placed and displayed all convey a message to customers.  The detailed marketing strategies involved with retail is really quite remarkable.

This is why I am planning on throwing the closet idea out the window!  I am going to use my clothing as decor for my room.  I have the luxury of having a very big bedroom, so I certainly have the space to do it.  I am in the process of buying some slatwall shelving , slatwall fixtures and tables to start with.  Hopefully I can come up with a room theme and work the clothing into it to make a truly unique, fresh room that will be functional at the same time!

Computer Equipment Needed For The New College Student

So you’ve been accepted, financing is in order, lodging confirmed, and your parents seriously terrified since you are off to college. However at this stage, before your freedom from parental tyranny is complete, you might want to consider asking for that computer equipment you need to complete those classes you have to take on this four year journey of education. But what do you ask for? Laptop, desktop, laser printer or ink jet, and the list of questions goes on and on of what do you really need?

Before you buy computer equipment it helps to start at the beginning. You will need a computer but which type? There a three basic types currently: laptop, mini-notebook, or laptop. A laptop offers the convenience of mobility which allows you to work anywhere. Your work travels with you to class, to the library, back to the dorm, and to the beach if you want it too. However there is a cost premium associated with that mobility as well as a smaller screen size. Don’t be fooled by the advertised “special of the week“ offering you a laptop at an amazing price comparable to a desktop. Although that unit will probably work great for updating Facebook or keeping your MP3 player synchronized it might not fare so well when you are trying to do research and write a 100 page term paper at the same time. You will generally pay 50% more for a comparable laptop rather than the desktop version as well. Do your research and look at the technical specifications to make sure you are getting what you parents are paying for.

Mini-notebooks are new to the market and seem like a great fit for a college student at first glance. Extremely tiny and portable they offer the extreme mobility that most laptop users only dream of. However just like their bigger cousins they offer a very tiny screen size and performance is less than that of a comparable laptop. Although price wise they come in slightly cheaper you will certainly pay for it while trying to see the footnotes while still writing that 100 page term paper, although for a different class of course.

Desktops are still the machine of choice for most college students. They have the best performance for the cost and also allow you to make modifications at less cost than you would on a laptop version. Whether it is a bigger screen, more memory, or a larger storage device you can do it all with minimum cost. The downside of course is your mobility factor is 0. You won’t be seeing the beach anytime soon with that term paper still due, both of them.

So before you buy computer hardware online do the research, compare the technical specifications, and way the advantage and disadvantages of each type. Then bilk your parents for the best they can afford!

My Perfect Bathroom

What can I say? I'm a girl who likes to be pampered. Because of this, you can pretty much guess which room in the house is my favorite. I probably spend more time in the bathroom than anywhere in the house...probably every other place in the house put together! Whether it's taking a hot bath after a hard day or getting ready to go out for the night in front of the mirror, you are likely to find me in the bathroom.

I've always told myself that when I get my own place, the bathroom is going to be the nicest room in the house. I have put a lot of thought into what would go in my perfect bathroom. After much deliberation, I have come up with 4 essentials for my perfect bathroom.

1. Big Tub

I want my bathtub to be jacuzzi size. I am a very active girl, and nothing feels better after the gym than a hot bath. I want the tub to have the jacuzzi-like jets as well because it really relaxes my muscles. I have always been a sucker for a hot bubble bath, and I plan on having a bathtub I can be proud of!

2. Music

As you can tell, I am all about atmosphere. Whether I am taking a shower, laying in the tub, getting read to go out or even going to the bathroom, I want to be relaxed and comfortable. Having relaxing music is essential for the perfect relaxed atmosphere. I would like to have an MP3 player dock mounted somewhere in my bathroom so I could play whatever I want.

3. Candles & Lighting

Candles around the bath are a must. My bathroom right now is very small, but I still have about 15 candles in it. I plan on doubling that in my future bathroom. I am a very light oriented person, and I don't like bright, general light. I enjoy soft, mood lighting and accent lighting. If I had it my way, my bathroom wouldn't even have a main light. It would have candles, bath lights and bathroom vanity light around my mirror

4. Huge Mirror

How could you not want a huge mirror? It is very functional, as well as decorative. A big mirror makes getting ready to go out and going through your daily bathroom routine much easier. I don't want anything crazy, but I would definitely like something that I could see at least waist-up.

4 Reasons You Need An MP3 Player

Lets face it: in today's society an MP3 player is an essential piece of technology. It is almost impossible to be a music lover and not have an MP3 player. Much like records, 8 tracks and cassette tapes, CDs are becoming a thing of the past.

Because of this, MP3 players are the go to medium to enjoy your music. MP3 players have made it easier than ever to customize your music experience. As they are becoming more popular, MP3 players are also coming down in price. No longer is Apple's iPod the only game in town. Other big name companies like Microsoft and Sony have entered the MP3 player market, giving consumers the opportunity to buy cheap MP3 players.

If you have been debating an MP3 player purchase but have been on the fence about it, here are 4 reasons why you need an MP3 player.

1. Exercise

If you are an avid gym-goer, your MP3 player should be as important as your sneakers and water bottle. Listening to music makes working out much more tolerable, and can actually improve your performance. Although you could take a CD player to the gym with you, it is bulky and looks dated. In addition, no other music medium gives you the diversity that MP3 players offer.

2. Travel

Listening to music is also a necessity when you travel. Whether flying from New York to Los Angeles, driving 30 miles to work every day or hiking through the mountains, music can enhance the experience. MP3 players are perfect travel companions because they are small, light and have good battery life.

3. Diversity

I touched on this earlier, but it warrants its own point. If you have an eclectic taste in music, nothing comes close to an MP3 player in terms of giving you the range that you want. Everything else is limited....radio, CDs, cassettes etc. You can put several genres of music and numerous artists on one MP3 player and listen to whatever song you want whenever you want.

4. Savings
Believe it or not, buying an MP3 player can actually save you money. First off, MP3 players are becoming more and more affordable. You can buy MP3 players online for under $50. In addition to the price on the actual player, selecting music to fit your needs has become easier. Instead of having to shell out $15 for an album, you can buy individual songs for less than $1. This makes experimenting with new music cheap and easy.

The Benefits of buying computer hardware online are many. The most valuable resources you have are your time and money. You save both when you buy computer hardware online. Consider the following.

Not just the hardware but the terminology is always being updated too. Online searching makes it easy to stay informed of the latest changes.

4 Ways To Watch Movies For Cheap

If there is one thing that really grinds my gears, it's the high price of movie tickets these days. To see a movie on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night...it's going to cost you at least $8 a pop. That isn't even counting soda and popcorn!

Fortunately, there are more avenues than ever to get your cinema fix. In the ever progressing world of electronics, you can watch movies everywhere from a computer screen to a cell phone. Even though technology is expanding, you can still find ways to watch movies for cheap. If you are a movie buff on a budget, here are 4 tips for watching movies on the cheap.

1. Trade DVDs with friends.

I can't believe DVD trading isn't more common. We all have DVDs that we've either received as presents or simply got sick of that just sit there and collect dust. Since this feeling is pretty normal, it is possible that a few of your friends have DVDs that you want to see simply sitting on the rack. Organize a DVD trading party, temporary or final, and freshen up your movie collection.

2. Rent DVDs using RedBook or Netflix.

Poor Blockbuster! Movie rental innovations like RedBook and Netflix have revolutionized the speed, ease and price of movie rentals. RedBook has kiosks placed in business like WalMart where you can rent a movie for $1. Netflix is more popular than ever, and only getting bigger now that they have partnered with Miscrosoft and X-Box. These are very cheap ways to rent movies that you have been wanting to see.

3. Buy Cheap DVDs online .

I strongly suggest that you buy cheap DVDs online. I haven't bought a DVD in a store in quite some time. There are a few reasons for this. First off, finding DVDs online is very easy...and they are generally much cheaper. Additionally, if you buy a DVD right when it is coming out, you have a good chance of getting some sort of gift with it. It is pretty normal to receive a poster or some sort of collectible if you ore-order a DVD online.

4. Go to a matinée.

If you thrive on the theater experience, skip the late night and weekend shows and go right for the weekday matinée. If you can clear your schedule, there is no better time to watch a movie then in the early afternoon during the week. You'll see how strange it is to leave the movie theater when it is still light out! Matinées are generally priced way down from the normal movie ticket. If you are really looking forward to seeing that new summer blockbuster coming out, take it in for the matinée price.

The Twilight Saga

I think I might have found a book series that I enjoy even more than "Harry Potter" and "Lord Of The Rings"...Twilight!  I've always been a sucker for vampire lore.  I loved watching "Dracula" moves when I was growing up.  The "Underworld" movie series is one of my favorite of all time as well.  Along with vampire movies and books, I also have a soft spot (like many women) for romance.  When I first heard about Stephenie Meyers' romantic vampire book series, I knew I had to read it.

I was a little late on the "Twilight" train, but it was for the best since I managed to get my hands on a used copy online.  I stronlgly suggest that you buy cheap books online!  It sure is a lot cheaper than if you buy new books in bookstores.  Anyways, I must have burned through the first book, named "Twilight" after the series as a whole, in under 3 days.  Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down.  The story of Edward and Bella had me riveted!  Everything from the unique plot to the terrific development of supporting characters like Bella's father, Charlie, Jacob and James left me constantly wanting more.

I have since read "New Moon", "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn".  The most staggering thing that I've found from this saga is that it gets better as it goes!  I couldn't imagine any book being better than "Twilight" and then came "New Moon".  I couldn't imagine any book being more interesting and gripping than "New Moon" and along came "Eclipse".

As many of you know, they already released a movie version of "Twilight" which is absolutely fantastic.  They are looking to make each book into it's own movie which I am looking forward to beyond words.  If you haven't seen the movie, rent it!

If you are a girl who enjoys romance, action, interesting characters and books set in current times with unusual circumstances, pick up these books ASAP!  You will thank me later!

A Big Mistake Women Make At The Gym

I don't normally harp on people who are doing something wrong at the gym. The fact that they are at the gym is respectable enough. However, there is something that I constantly see at the gym that not only gets on my nerves, but isn't going to help the person one bit.

If you are a girl who uses one cardio machine, whether it be an elliptical machine, step machine, treadmill, or exercise bike) don't use the same machine for more than 30 minutes. I know it is easy to simply use one machine...you don't have to wait, you don't have to do much cleaning etc. In the end, it won't be beneficial to you. There are a few reasons why I say this...

First off, it is very annoying when someone is hogging a machine for that long. Every time I see a girl reading a magazine or on the cell phone while she's walking on the treadmill, I'll always look over to see how long they have been on the machine. More often than not, they have been on or are planning on being on longer than 30 minutes. This is very annoying, and to be honest, a waste of a cardio machine.

Doing all of your cardio on one machine is better than not working out at all. However, it is far from optimal. Your body eventually gets used to the constant motion of an elliptical machine, for example. If you go to the gym 3 times a week and do a 45 minute elliptical workout every day, you will find that it is burning far less calories by the third week than it did at the beginning. Once your body gets used to an exercise, it won't work as well.

Since I brought up this complaint, I feel it necessary to explain the solution. Next time you are at the gym, try doing 3 or 4 different cardio machines for 10 or 15 minutes. Try working all of the cardio machine staples into your workout, and you can even throw push ups, sit ups, pull ups, boxing and jump rope into your workout. You will see that if you do this at a higher intensity, it will be a far better workout. Doing this, coupled with the body detox of a sauna or a body detox of a steam room will be far more beneficial to you (and everyone else) then spending all of that time on one machine.

My Advice For People Starting Gym Franchises

If there is one place I've spent a good part of my adult life in, it's the gym.  I'm a very health minded individual who sees the benefit of exercise.  I was very active in athletics when I was in high school and college, so exercise is a way of life for me.  Exercising a few times per week gives me confidence, drives me to eat better, helps me sleep better and makes my clothes fit better!

In addition to having a very health and fitness driven mind, I am also very interested in business.  I have a degree in business administration and marketing.  Because of these two interests, I am always critical of how a gym franchise is run.  I've frequented at least a dozen gym franchise in my life, so I know a thing or two about them.  Although many gyms do a better than average job of giving the gym goer what they want, I do have some general advice for gym franchise owners.

First off, know how much your establishment is worth.  I am not going to pay a $200 start up fee and $50/month for a basic gym with few amenities.  If your gym has a good amount of weight lifting and cardio equipment in addition to racquetball courts, basketball courts, a pool, jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms and other amenities then you can charge a premium.  There are many gym franchise owners that thing they can charge people whatever they want.  The fact of the matter is that your customer is going to immediately know if your gym is worth the price or not.  The more people that say "no" means the more money you will lose.

Secondly, make your gym condusive to several kinds of people.  Gyms are generally known as a "weightlifting gym" or a "cardio gym".  One rule of thumb to constantly go by is thinking to yourself "would "insert a type of person" feel comfortable in here?".  Try to make everyone comfortable, make everyone feel like they belong.  If there are weightlifters grunting and screaming and making others uncomfortable, say something to them.  Conversely, if there is a college girl walking on a treadmill for an hour while reading a magazine, let her know that she is making others wait.

Lastly, franchising is all about establishing an identity.  If there are more than 1 gym with the same name, make sure that they have an identity.  You want people to immediately know what your gym is all about by reputation before they even walk in the door.  Doing proper advertising will bring people through the door.  This can be easy if you own a gym franchise, because you will already have marketing and advertising.  However, you should advertise in every way possible to promote your facility.  Use the internet as an advertising tool, and make sure everyone knows who you are.

3 Ways To Justify Buying Expensive Computer Software

One thing I have worked pretty hard on throughout my life is becoming as computer savvy as possible. I realized at a young age that computers and the internet was going to be the wave of the future and have been learning about the electronic world ever since. What can I say...I'm a proud computer nerd! One thing that always surprised me in my quest to be computer-knowledgeable was how much computer software can cost! If you are buying photo editing software like PhotoShop, video editing software, web design programs or music editors, they can cost you a solid chunk of money. However, don't immediately rule out these incredibly useful programs because of sticker shock. Here are 3 ways to justify spending money on expensive computer software.

1. Computer software can make you money.

Whenever you buy computer software, think of it as an investment with the potential for return. Having a thorough knowledge of different computer programs can definitely make you money, whether you have your own site or work freelance. I know graphic designers, video editors and web designers who make a good amount of money working freelance. Although the newest PhotoShop bundle may cost a few hundred dollars, you have the potential to make a couple thousand through various design projects. This, along with the fact that you can make money working from home, makes these programs look that more attractive!

2. Computer software can make you better at your job.

Mastering relevant computer software programs can be a huge point of attention on a resume. If you buy PC software that is popular in internet and computer based companies and become very good at it, your resume will be at the top of every pile. Someone who knows code and can work their way around PhotoShop and Dreamweaver will be in a very good spot at their current web design job. This goes for a wide variety of internet based careers. Spending $600 on a computer program is definitely worth a $2,000 raise!

3. Computer software can facilitate a fun hobby.

Don't think of computers as all work and no play! Some computer applications can be very interesting, fulfilling hobbies. I, personally, love playing around with photo editors and music editing software. This is something that I frequently do in my spare time because it gives me enjoyment. Whether you like art, music, video games...whatever, computer software that brings you happiness is always worth it!

Which Type Of Perfume Buyer Are You?

If there is one thing I am hopelessly addicted to, it is perfume. I have so many bottles of perfume that most people would think I was crazy. I've always loved things that smelled good. I have a very keen sense of smell, and I truly appreciate scents that please my sense of smell.

I was wearing perfume at a very early age. I remember wearing my mothers fragrances and feeling like a grown up! Now that I am older, I have developed my own personal tastes in perfumes and fragrances. I have also notices other peoples' fragrance buying habits.

I am very interested in others' shopping patterns, especially when it comes to perfumes, colognes and fragrances. Why do people buy a certain perfume? What leads them to that decision? In my analysis, I found that there are 4 types of female perfume buyers. Here is my analysis.

1. “I'll buy whatever is popular.”

I was definitely this type of perfume buyer when I was in middle school and high school. Everyone wants to fit in at that age, so I was spending the money on designer perfumes and fragrances. I did find a lot of scents that was a fan of through this process, but for a while I wouldn't even smell a fragrance before I bought it. Wearing a popular scent can definitely illustrate your personality and “complete the look”. If you are someone who always wears Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger, it only makes sense to complete the wardrobe with the fragrance.

2. “I'll buy a perfume as long as it is unique.”

It seems like once you graduate high school and go on to college, this is a natural progression. While high school is all about fitting in, college is all about standing out and carving your own spot in this world. Your clothing changes from mall retail stores to small boutiques and rare vintage garb. Your taste in fragrances also change. These people usually look to smaller shops, internet stores or discount perfumes for something that nobody else has.

3. “I'll buy whatever I personally think smells good.”

It sounds like common sense, but not everyone fits this mold. There are always people who march to the beat of their own drummer. These people truly don't care what other people thing and will buy whatever they like. If they feel like buying yellow jeans and a leather cowboy hat, they will. This type of perfume buyer will buy whatever scent they like. Whether it is $10 or $100...if they like it they will buy it. Their individuality is kind of admirable!

4. “I'll buy what someone else tells me smells good.”

This is usually the “relationship&rdquo ; segment of the perfume buying crowd. These gals either receive fragrances for birthday, Valentines Day or Christmas presents. If they don't get perfume bought for them, their boyfriend/husband/signifi cant other suggests a scent he likes. There is nothing wrong with this, as someone's perfume should be self pleasing and pleasant to others.

Which Dance Style Should I Try?

Good afternoon everyone.  I was pondering something today and yesterday and I want to get the tBlogosphere's opinion.  As you know if you've read my past posts, I have been a dancer all my life.  I have taken ballet and jazz classes since I've been very young.  I took classes through high school and most of college.  Unfortunately, the added stresses of school plus cheerleading and soccer kind of put dance on the back burner.  I always loved dance, but I was a little more passionate about those two sports.  Obviously, school couldn't be sacrificed so dance was weened out.

The good news is I have more time now.  I was thinking about taking up a new hobby.  There are a few art and sculpture classes in my area, as well as countless music shops that give piano, guitar and other lessons.  However, I think going back to dance would be my best bet.  I think this because I won't have to start over at ground zero.  I know nothing about art, sculpture, pottery, guitar or piano.  On the contrary, I have many years experience in dance.  I also still have all of my dance shoes and dancewear that still fit.

I have narrowed my possible choices to three dance styles: salsa, ballet and ballroom dancing.  I think my time is up as far as jazz and hip hop dance goes...I want something else in my "maturing" age.  Salsa immediately interest me because I have no background whatsoever in it and I think it would be fun.  It's something different, something that stands out a bit.  That was one drawback about jazz and ballet:  everyone took jazz and ballet classes.  I think salsa dancing would suit my flair and personality.  I also love the clothes!

Ballet is still a very viable option, even though it is widely practiced.  Taking ballet classes now would be different than when I took them several years ago.  The main reason I want to take ballet classes again is that I still feel there is something left to prove.  I was always good at it, it always came natural to me.  I would like to see how I could perform as an educated, experienced adult.

The last choice, and most intriguing, is ballroom dance.  There are three things about ballroom dance that kind of puts it in the front of the pack for me.  First off, it is the epitome of class.  When I think of class, I think of beautiful women and handsome men dancing at some expensive ball.  Secondly, I love the style and dress.  I can see myself in those extremely feminine, sexy outfits.  Lastly, it is going to be a challenge!  I've never had dance "partners" before, so that would certainly add a whole new dynamic to the dance style.

As always, I want to know what everyone thinks.  Message me with any opinions or information!

4 Attributes Every Dancer Needs

A group of my friends were just sitting around this past Tuesday when our one friend, Lily, said that she was thinking about becoming a dancer.  A few of our friends immediately laughed, because Lilly is a bit uncoordinated.  Although I think she is clumsy and uncoordinated, I think dance would greatly help her get in touch with herself physically.  After a couple minutes went by and we saw that she was serious about dance, a few of the girls told her that it might not be the best idea.  I imagine they were just looking out for her...they didn't want to see her get hurt or embarrassed.

This whole situation made me think about how many physical tools someone needs to be a good dancer.  I've taken several years of dance, so I know the physical toll that it takes.  Dancing isn't just what you see happening out at the club on Friday or Saturday night.  Once you put on your ballet shoes or jazz shoes, it is a whole different world.  If I were to pick 4 necessary attributes every dancer needs, these would be it.

1.  Flexibility

If you aren't flexible, dancing could be a very painful experience!  For this reason, dancers go through very regimented pre and post dance stretches, as well as warm ups and cool downs.  Some of the best dancers I know work on their flexibility at home and at the gym as well.  Activities like yoga, pilates and extensive stretching can do wonders for your flexibility.  With this new found flexibility, your dancing will be limitless.

2.  Rhythm

Rhythm isn't something you learn.  I believe it is something that you either have or you don't have.  The ability to synchronize your body to music or a beat is something that will make or break you as a dancer.  The best dancers can unconsciously feel the rhythm and dance accordingly.  The best musicians also have impeccable rhythm.

3.  Stamina

Dancing isn't just all shoes and costumes...it is a very physically demanding activity.  The years of dance that I participated in were some of the best workouts I've ever had.  Dance is constant movement for long periods of time.  Just like running, cycling or using a cardiovascular machine at the gym, dance requires everything from conditioning to proper breathing.  Take a month's worth of dance classes and see how good you feel and how much more energy you have.

4.  Coordination

Lily's main downfall: coordination.  Unlike rhythm, I believe coordination can be taught.  This is why professional basketball players can go unbelievable things with a basketball and professional soccer players can do amazing things with their feet and a soccer ball.  Coordination is necessary in dance because you will constantly trip over your own feet and be careless with your motion if you aren't in control over your body.  The good news is that coordination comes with practice.  If Lily can make it through a few dance classes, I think she will be fine!

What Do You Think About Ordering Shoes Online?

My latest entry into my "should I do this or not do this" string of blogs is whether or not you should order shoes online.  As you all know, I always preach about buying clothing online.  There are a ton of benefits of buying clothes online, but you also have to watch out with sizing.  When it comes to shoes, a lot of the same applies.

Whether you are buying sneakers, heels, dance shoes or any type of shoe, the most important thing to consider is sizing.  There are some companies that are very consistent with their sizes, so they make it easy.  I have ordered several pairs of pointe shoes and dance shoes from Capezio's website and they have all had a real consistent fit.  However, I have also ordered some non-dance shoes from larger retail stores online and the fit was way off...enough for me to go through the trouble of returning them.

I would personally suggest trying on any shoes before you buy them if at all possible.  Most companies do have return policies, so you aren't out of luck if they don't fit.  However, who wants to wait for shoes to arrive just to send 'em back?

Music Purchasing

I have always loved music.  These last couple of years, I've really started to enjoy country music.  I've added quite a few country albums to my already extensive collection.  This past Tuesday, I went to get the new Eric Church album (which is unbelievable by the way!).  When I got back I told a few of my country music loving friends about it, and they asked to borrow the CD so they could burn it.  I obliged because they have done the same for me in the past.  However, it kind of got me thinking.

It is no secret that the music industry is taking a big hit because of music downloading.  It seems like since Napster was started in the 90s, the music industry has been reeling.  It is true, not as many people are actually buying CDs from music franchises and stores anymore.  This has even caused huge music stores like Virgin to close down.

Unfortunately, in a hard economy people are going to go with the cheaper option.  It isn't that difficult to get your hands on free MP3s these days.  With the huge P2P file sharing programs, people are buying music less.  I always try to "support the musician" and buy the album, but I think I'm the minority.

I want to know what all of you people think out there.  Do you still go to your local music store or franchise and buy albums?  Do you pay for albums or individual songs online on iTunes and Amazon?  Do you use P2P programs or torrents to download music for free?  Let me know what you think...I promise I won't tell!
