Difference Between Leggings And Tights

I have no idea what the difference is between leggings and tights. There seem to be dozens of terms for women's footwear and leg wear (i.e. tights, legwarmers, leggings, knee high socks , pantyhose, sheers etc.), and I'd like to know the difference. Since I really can't stand sounding ignorant on any matter, I decided to do my research. After searching "difference between tights and leggings" in Google, I found a few decent results.

So, apparently, the only difference between leggings and tights is that leggings don't have feet and tights do. Apparently, footless tights are pretty close to leggings, but leggings are thicker. Legwarmers, on the other hand, strictly go from knee to ankle so I'm told.  Legwarmers are usually thicker than leggings as well...think sweater sleeves on your legs.

I don't know about you, but I think there should be less confusion and call leggings tights, whether they have feet or don't. This would be good for everyone, and far less brain racking.  Leg warmers can stay leg warmers, though!

Steam Rooms: Useful or Hype?

Like I'm sure I stated before, I love steam rooms.  Sitting for 15 minutes in the steam room or eucalyptus room honestly gets me through my workout.  I feel relaxed, refreshed, rejuvenated after I've been in the steam room.  That night, I feel as though I've had a full body detox/massage allowing me to eat cleaner, be more stress free and sleep better.  Although I feel all of these wonderful benefits, some people have their doubts about a steam room's health benefits.

I may be too biased to answer this question, but I decided to do research to see if there was any documented evicence to the benefit of sitting in the steam room.  Before I go on any further, let me tell those who don't know what a steam room is.  A steam room is a small, tiled room that is steamed to a very hot temperature allowing you to sweat perfusely.  Here are a few interesting things that I found.

Steam rooms are very beneficial to most respiratory conditions like asthma, bronchitis and hoarseness.  In addition, they are good for muscular weakness, joint pain and sleeping disorders.  Probably the most interesting piece of information that I found is the benefit of a steam room on your skin.  The moisture and heat from steam rooms increases blood flow throughout your skin, opens your pores and removes dirt and dead skin.  It is like giving your skin a colon cleanse!

I was surprised to see the lack of research done on how the steam room eliminates toxins in your body.  I always felt like that was the reason for such the clean, refreshed feeling afterwards.  Perhaps that is just some wishful thinking on my part.  Regardless, I'm glad I found that information and I'm looking forward to doing some more.
