Underwear As Stocking Stuffers?

I have a dilemma on my hands.  As you know from reading my earlier posts, I have a pretty good amount of close friends.  We have some up with a pretty good idea for the holidays.  Since buying presents for 8 or 9 girls will be pretty expensive, we've come up with an alternative.  What we are going to do is each buy and decorate our own stocking and put our name on it.  After the stockings are made, each of us is going to buy each girl a "stocking stuffer" so we all have presents but don't spend a fortune.

I immediately thanked my two friends Becky and Sarah for coming up with such an excellent idea.  My immediate idea was to buy my friends some socks , tights or underwear.  Pretty much all of my friends are fashionable girls who enjoy accessories as much as anyone I know.  My only worry is that underwear might not be an appropriate gift.  I don't want to offend anybody, nor do I want people to think I'm cheap.  Let me know what you guys think...is underwear a good stocking stuffer for friends?

What Supplements Do You Take?

Fitness and nutrition can sometimes be so vast and complex, it is hard to keep up on things unless it is your profession.  I'm a busy girl, so I don't really have all that much time to read up on the latest, greatest food, drink or supplement.  Unfortunately, the internet and popular magazines are filled with contradicting evidence and claims.  You could read one unbiased website that promotes body detox and cleansing, then read a website that says you shouldn't do it.

One topic in particular that I get especially confused on is what supplements people take.  The purpose of supplements are to get the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that we do not get enough of through our regular diet.  With me being active, there is a whole different category about supplements to take to aid muscle repair, muscle recovery and energy.  This whole topic has become so confusing that I've almost given up.

I want to know what supplements everyone out there takes.  Right now, I take a multivitamin, fiber tablets, fish oil capsules, whey and soy protein and glutamine after a workout...that's pretty much it.  I know there are people out there who take green tea tablets and herbal cleanser s, but I don't too often.  Let me know what all of you take...I could use some advice!

Socks To Sleep

A very hotly debated topic amongst my group of friends is the subject of wearing socks to sleep. Our circle seems to be almost split 50/50 on the socks to sleep question. Although it seems like something insignificant, you'd be surprised how passionate people are about this topic.

On one hand, there are people like me who need to wear socks to sleep. I am an avid believer in optimal sleeping conditions being cold, dark and quiet. However, I love to warm myself up with thick blankets, cozy pajamas and warm socks . If my extremities are cold, I find it very uncomfortable in any condition...sleeping or not. I also have a pretty vast collection of warm and fuzzy socks that I find extremely comfortable.

On the other hand, there are those people like my friend Becky who absolutely cannot go anywhere near a bed, futon or couch with socks on. These people are usually the type who need freedom when they sleep and are strangers to pajamas and lots of blankets.

I, honestly, don't see what the big deal with having socks on while you sleep is. It seems perfectly normal to me, but I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

Credit Card Debt

I know I've touched on this earlier in an older post, but I was thinking about credit cards recently. I was at the grocery store the other day and I saw a woman who pulled out a wallet of at least 15 credit cards. I have no idea why someone needs that many credit cards.

Something most people don't know is that it is detrimental to your credit score to have several, unused credit cards. It lowers your average credit card age, which makes you more of a lending risk. Yes, that means retail credit cards like Old Navy, Express and Gap. If you have a bad credit score, you are more likely to have problems getting loans and decent rates. I know several people who have gone through debt consolidation and credit consolidation because of careless credit card use.

I have 5 cards I think: a Visa, my bank debit card, a Wal Mart card and 2 cards from retail stores.  I think that is a bit excessive!  I hope people can get the idea that 10 credit cards is a bad idea.  Using one credit card to pay off another one is never too great of an idea.
